Our Garden Oven
If you fancy a spot to soak up every last drop of al-fresco afternoons and is a little more laid-back, our Garden Oven at THE PIG-at Bridge Place will be fired up all summer long!
No bookings needed to join us, simply drop on by for some smoky wood-fired bites or tipples in the sunshine.

If you fancy digging into the dishes we love at this time of year outside surrounded by the Kent countryside, book a table out on the terrace and tuck in.

Soak up every last drop of al fresco-fuelled afternoons and enjoy wood-fired pizzas with fantastic company at our Garden Oven, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main house in the heart of the Kitchen Garden.
Open daily for food and drinks - weather dependant!
Opening times
The Garden Oven is now open 12pm - 5.00pm, so swing on by and soak up the sunshine all week long!
From June 11th the Garden Oven opens 12pm - 7.30pm (food is served until 6pm).
No need to book! Just drop in for some relaxed sunshine dining and a glass of something chilled. As always seating will be on a first-come first-served basis.
Closed for our Smoked & Uncut Garden Parties
The Garden Oven will be closed on 8th August & 9th August for our weekend-long summer bash! We'll also be closing the Garden Oven slightly earlier at 3pm on 7th August, as the party kicks things off on the Friday night.
Think live, acoustic music, plenty of homecooked festi-food, glitter, garden tours and (very) well stocked bars… just like the good old days. Find out more and book your tickets here.
Swinging by?
The Garden Oven will be open unless it is very wet and/or very windy. If you are unsure on the day and the weather is on the wetter side, please call us on 01227 830 208 to check we are open. Please note we will not be able to accommodate Garden Oven dining inside.
What's on the menu?
Think smoky, wood-fired pizzas piled high with our favourite seasonal toppings, straight from the Garden Oven. All washed down with a few chilled tipples; we'll have plenty of English fizz and rosé on hand to keep things flowing!

Our summer Garden Parties are back for 2026!
...and this year is extra special, as 2026 marks 15 fantastic years of THE PIG!
The ultimate way to spend a summer weekend! We’ll be throwing open the doors to our lawn in the Kent countryside from Friday 7th August to Sunday 9th August for a proper garden party with great feasting food, live, local music and cracking entertainment to let the good times roll.

Explore the countryside
We’ve got plenty of walks right on our doorstep. Each of our hotels has a handful of tried-and-tested routes, perfect for getting out and exploring the surrounding countryside.
Wander through rolling fields, woodland paths and nearby villages, soaking up a little fresh air along the way. Then head back to ours for a well-earned bite to eat, a drink on the terrace, or something fresh from the Garden Oven, the perfect way to round off a good walk.

An all-round crowd-pleaser – you can’t go wrong with a homemade pizza in the warmer months. But what really sets these bad boys apart is the toppings. We’ve got a few you’ve got to try… (you can thank us later).
